Dramatis - BBC In Concert 1982

http://www.4shared.com/rar/tEbSHCqx/Numaboots-Dramatis82.html?

Dramatis should be familiar to most Numan fans as they were the 'Numan Band' for three years or so and appeared (some or all) on albums such as "The Pleasure Principle", "Telekon" and "Dance". They consisted of Chris Payne (Vocals and Keyboards), Cedric Sharpley (Drums), Denis Haines (Keyboards) and Russell Bell (Keyboards) and released the "For Future Reference Album" in 1981. The bands second single "Love Needs No Disguise" is perhaps best known as Gary guested on vocals which helped take the single to a UK chart position of 33. In total 3 singles were released in support of the album then 3 further non album singles were released the following year in 1982.

Mike Slifkin has created a Facebook page to document the current happenings regarding the band and its members "Dramatis To Reform" which is an open group if any Facebookers want to join and share their memories of the band. Mike says his reasons for creating the FB group...

This is an idea I had after listening to both Rrussel Bell & Chris Payne being interviewed. On separate occasions, they both hinted that in principle they would not rule out reforming their old band (along with Cedric Sharpley and for a brief time Dennis Haines) Dramatis.A good starting point would be to find out who owns the For Future Reference masters and along with Face On The Wall, The Shame & I Can See Her Now 7" & 12" respectively, try and get them remastered and repackaged better than the last attempt.

Any new material and live work would obviously be a bonus. So come on. Let's put some pressure on and see what happens!Any ideas and comments welcome.

Regards,

Mike Slifkin

This is a BBC live recording of excellent quality featuring 8 tracks including "Love Needs No Disguise" (Sorry no Gary on vocals on this version!) Many thanks to Mike for this great share!

  1. Thanks, Ill certainly be grabbing this one. Around the same time I remember Dramatis appearing on a battle of the bands type program on TV, Showcase or something. Does anyone else remember it or have I made it up!

  5. I had bought a CD many years ago being 'Tubeway Army - The Dramatis Project' which is basically the 'For Future Reference'album. It was issued in 2002 by Castle Select Records, a label of Sanctuary Records Group Ltd and was made in the UK so they are more likely to have the copyright on the album. No address given on CD so hopes this helps Mike Slifkin in some way.

  7. I've re-posted this using 4Shared which I'm testing to see if it is the way to go (You might have noticed I have also updated the Ultravox links like this) - you may need to sign up for a free account to access 4 Shared but I would appreciate your feedback to see how easy you found the process.

    Thanks
