Foo Fighters - Reading Festival 26th August 1995 & The Tramps, New York 27th April 1995

The Foo Fighters on Numa Boots? Really?...yep! O.K. here's the reasoning....we all know they recorded a cover of "Down In The Park" which ended up on the X-Files album ("Songs In The Key Of X") but until recently I didn't realise they ever played it live. This recording is actually the highlights of the bands first appearence at the Reading Festival and a club date four months earlier. The club date is recorded before the bands first album was released and they choose to open the set with "Down In The Park". It is really interesting to hear knowing now that they are one of the biggest bands on the planet and that Dave Grohl choose to open a gig with a track he was so obviously under prepared to sing....see how many lyrical fluffs and mistakes he makes in the Tubeway Army classic!

Prime Club Cologne 20th November 2000 (The Pure Tour)

This is the opening night of the European tour that unveiled a lot of "Pure" to us all with 7 of the albums 12 tracks being played. The sound is pretty good once you get past the first track which seems a little distant but the rest are clear enough! Incidently "Pure" is one of my favourite Numan albums so I am really happy to share this recording!

Glasgow Apollo 20th September 1979 (Touring Principle '79)

This is the opening night of The Touring Principle '79 as asked for in the requests thread.

Please note that this isn't of the usual sound quality that I like to post on Numa Boots but is presented here to fill the request. This is one for completists only! If you have a better recording of this show please let me know!

DJ Vanian from the excellent Sanctum Sanctorum podcast has given this recoding a bit of a sound overhaul to take some of the roughness out of it.

Many thanks to DJ Vanian for his work on this and be sure to check out his podcast which is essential listening fot Numan fans! http://www.podomatic.com/profile/vampyre21-uk43664

Posthouse Hotel, Milton Keynes 7th March 1998 (Numan Convention)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GH3M20R0

This is from the Numan Convention in 1998 where Gary played a short set and then joined Ade Orange who was performing with his band Dig. Depending on the track during the Dig set Gary contributed guitar (mainly), keyboards and backing vocals. This is a nice one to have and the Dig version of "AFE" is well worth hearing.

Colston Hall, Bristol 8th February 2003 (25th Anniversary Shows)

This is the first of 2 dates that Gary performed to celebrate 25 years of creating music. The second night was at London's Shepherds Bush Empire (which I also have but the Bristol recording is of a far superior sound quality). The set bounced all over the place from the early days of Tubeway Army with "That's Too Bad" through a few tracks from the latest (at time of this show) album "Pure" and the freshly written "Ancients" which would see light of day on the "Hybrid" album. This is a really unusual set list and not one that would likely be played during a standard tour. Sound quality on this one is excellent.

I like this one even though it's got a bit of a booming sound and it's an incomplete show (I'm guessing the last 5 or so tracks are missing) but don't let that put you off!
