In 1996 Gary played his first festival dates appearing at the V96 Festival in Warrington and Chelmsford alongside acts such as Pulp, Paul Weller, Supergrass, The Charlatans and Lightning Seeds on the V stage. This was also the first of the now annual V Festivals. Gary played a 45 minute set which also included songs that wouldn't be released until "Exile" the following year. This is an audience recording that won't be for everyone so check the sample first!

Another recording from the early part of "The Emotion Tour" (this was the third night of the tour) and it's one that has Gary nice and clear in the mix but with the drums also right up there too! I will try to start uploading one track as a sample of audio quality to make it easier when deciding if you want to download the entire show.

In 1993 Numan went out on the "Dream Corrosion" tour in October and November before returning to play seven stadium dates the following month, his first stadium dates since the Wembley Arena "farewell" dates in 1981. This was as a support act on the O.M.D. (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) "Liberator" tour - an offer that Gary accepted immediately when it was offered. It was felt that having such a "name" as a support act / special guest would help with ticket sales and a large number of Numan fans took the chance to catch him in these larger venues.

This is an audience recording which I would recommend for those wishing to experience these unique dates but if you are all about perfect quality then give it a miss. I love the version of "Are "Friends" Electric?" on this show...fast, rocky with the guitar really prominent!

Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth Park, 30th July 2010

Well this has taken some time to surface but when the quality is this good then the wait was well worth it!!! Some one uploaded this onto the Numan Folder (many thanks again to them!) and this sounds like a soundboard recording. I know parts of the festival were recorded but this is the full set! Some may have thought it was odd when Gary was added to the bill to a predominantly rock and metal festival bill (with Alice Cooper headlining the Friday of Numan's appearance) but he got an amazing reception! So thank you for the person who uploaded this one and thanks once again to the Numan Folder for allowing us to share this with all of you.

A great show at a smaller than usual venue making the last night of the tour pretty special. It was nice to meet Jim "The Machman" Napier from the North American GN Fan Club - if you haven't already checked out his excellent site then here's the link (some nice pics from the second leg of the "Dead Son Rising" tour on there at the moment too.) http://themachman.garynuman.info/

Nottingham Rock City 2nd December 2009 (Pleasure Principle Tour)

I am a bit conflicted about whether or not to post this one...it has nothing to do with it being a great sounding recording or not (it is btw) or whether it's a great set or show (it is on both counts) but it comes down to this...the original post was in FLAC and the uploaders wish was to keep it that way except for personal use. I converted this to MP3 for a friend and I listen to a lot of shows on my i-pod so it's easier for me too. I'm guessing that a lot of you do the same so if you want this show for that option here it is...however if you want to listen at home and in a lossless format then please use the FLAC links. I have included the text file that came with the original upload and I hope that this reasoning will be ok with the original poster as I have no wish to upset anyone or devalue the hard work put in to getting this great recording. So again MANY THANKS for this show.

This is the first of only 2 UK dates that Gary played in 2000 (the other was at Brixton Academy in October which was released as the "Scarred" album.) This set featured two "Pure" tracks that were yet to be named (working titles were "Hetrodyne" and "Pulse Bass") and also a moving tribute to Gary's friend Norman Lees who had died in a flying accident the week before. I have heard a better recording of this show than the one presented here but this one is complete where the other was missing a few tracks.

Reading Festival 24th August 2001

I got this one from Stevie D (who provided the great John Foxx XOYO recording) and tbh it was horrible, really distorted and not something you would want to listen to. Lucky for us that Stevie D also wasn't happy with it so he asked the original taper for the master recording and has worked some magic on it to clean it up for your listening enjoyment! It is still a little distant and murky but isn't a bad listen dispite that. Many thanks to Steve for his efforts and dedication bringing us a welcome addition to Numa Boots!

Again, no apologies for posting another non-Numan recording because this is John Foxx and it's great! Recorded on the latest tour promoting the brilliant "Interplay" album at London's XOYO club (think a big concrete basement but oddly I really like this venue!).

So here's who to thank.....this comes from Steve Doughty who has kindly allowed it to be reposted for all the Foxx fans at Numa Boots. You can check out his trade site at http://www.stevedoughty.co.uk/ many thanks to Steve for this great recording!

Foo Fighters - Reading Festival 26th August 1995 & The Tramps, New York 27th April 1995

The Foo Fighters on Numa Boots? Really?...yep! O.K. here's the reasoning....we all know they recorded a cover of "Down In The Park" which ended up on the X-Files album ("Songs In The Key Of X") but until recently I didn't realise they ever played it live. This recording is actually the highlights of the bands first appearence at the Reading Festival and a club date four months earlier. The club date is recorded before the bands first album was released and they choose to open the set with "Down In The Park". It is really interesting to hear knowing now that they are one of the biggest bands on the planet and that Dave Grohl choose to open a gig with a track he was so obviously under prepared to sing....see how many lyrical fluffs and mistakes he makes in the Tubeway Army classic!

This is from the Numan Convention in 1998 where Gary played a short set and then joined Ade Orange who was performing with his band Dig. Depending on the track during the Dig set Gary contributed guitar (mainly), keyboards and backing vocals. This is a nice one to have and the Dig version of "AFE" is well worth hearing.

This is the first of 2 dates that Gary performed to celebrate 25 years of creating music. The second night was at London's Shepherds Bush Empire (which I also have but the Bristol recording is of a far superior sound quality). The set bounced all over the place from the early days of Tubeway Army with "That's Too Bad" through a few tracks from the latest (at time of this show) album "Pure" and the freshly written "Ancients" which would see light of day on the "Hybrid" album. This is a really unusual set list and not one that would likely be played during a standard tour. Sound quality on this one is excellent.
