Another fantastic recording from the end of the "Pleasure Principle" tour this one comes with the same requests as the previously posted Nottingham gig...."the original post was in FLAC and the uploaders wish was to keep it that way except for personal use. I converted this to MP3 for a friend and I listen to a lot of shows on my i-pod so it's easier for me too. I'm guessing that a lot of you do the same so if you want this show for that option here it is...however if you want to listen at home and in a lossless format then please use the FLAC links. I hope that this reasoning will be ok with the original poster as I have no wish to upset anyone or devalue the hard work put in to getting this great recording. So again MANY THANKS for this show."

Nottingham Rock City 2nd December 2009 (Pleasure Principle Tour)

I am a bit conflicted about whether or not to post this one...it has nothing to do with it being a great sounding recording or not (it is btw) or whether it's a great set or show (it is on both counts) but it comes down to this...the original post was in FLAC and the uploaders wish was to keep it that way except for personal use. I converted this to MP3 for a friend and I listen to a lot of shows on my i-pod so it's easier for me too. I'm guessing that a lot of you do the same so if you want this show for that option here it is...however if you want to listen at home and in a lossless format then please use the FLAC links. I have included the text file that came with the original upload and I hope that this reasoning will be ok with the original poster as I have no wish to upset anyone or devalue the hard work put in to getting this great recording. So again MANY THANKS for this show.

This is a full show from Nine Inch Nails and is the first night of the NIN/JA tour (named as it was NIN along with Jane's Addiction) so the big question is what's it doing here on Numa Boots? There's a couple of reasons why I've decided to put this up here, firstly it's NIN and many Numan fans (myself included) love them and secondly this is the first time NIN performed "Metal" live! Just over 2 months later and Gary would join them on stage and perform it with them at London's O2 Arena (see the other NIN posts on here to get all of his guest appearances during the "Wave Goodbye" tour). It's an audience recording which is pretty clear throughout but some tracks definately sound better than others.

Please note - Gary does NOT appear on this recording!

I've been sitting on this on for a while as we have posted a few from this tour already but I know a lot of you may have been at this gig so it's about time it was posted! This is the last of the gigs from the excellent TARQUIN LIVE blog site and again loads as one track. Many thanks to Tarquin Live who also has this gig available in FLAC...http://tarquinlive.blogspot.com/  Sound wise it's a pretty decent audience recording....very clear but missing some of the bass end....still you can't go wrong with this one!

Another full set from the farewell "Wave Goodbye" tour where Gary guested on selected dates. This is a very good audience recording (one of the best in fact!) but unlike the later shows we only get 2 tracks - namely "Metal" and "I Die : You Die". This now completes the gigs that featured the Numan guest appearences.

Here it is....the surprise guest appearance during NIN's set at the O2, what an amazing moment that was! I was at this show and was torn as on the tour so far NIN were either playing their cover of Bowie's "I'm Afraid Of Americans" which is one of my (many) favourite Bowie tracks or Numan's "Metal" but not both. The previous date on the tour (13th July) at Manchester the band had elected to play "Metal" so when "I'm Afraid Of Americans" was played 8 tracks into the set in London I was resigned to not getting a Numan fix that night. Talk on the train journey on the way up touched on the fantasical with "wouldn't it be great if Gary came on for "Metal" and the opinion of it would be but would never happen! - How wrong we were!

Here it is, the final night of the "Wave Goodbye" tour and as you would expect it was always going to be something pretty special. Clocking in at a mere 3 and a quarter hours and featuring a whole host of special guests and no less than 3 encores this is a great sounding audience recording which again features the Mike Garson instrumental version of "Down In The Park" before Gary comes on for the full band version. "Metal" is there as expected but instead of the usual "Cars" we get treated to "I Die You Die". This was a fitting farewell to the live NIN, let's hope it's not too long before we see them again!

After Gary's amazing appearence with Nine Inch Nails at London's 02 Arena he was asked by Trent Reznor to come out to America and do the same on some of the final dates on the Wave Goodbye Tour. This is the penultimate date that NIN played (it was re-scheduled from the previous week due to Trent being ill) before they "waved goodbye", at least for now.

This is a great sounding audience source and you get 2 hours and 45 minutes of NIN going out in style! Gary isn't the only guest that night as you also get Mike Garson (Bowie/NIN/Smashing Pumpkins), Eric Avery (Jane's Addiction), HEALTH, Danny Lohner (NIN/Marilyn Manson)  and Greg Puciato(The Dillenger Escape Plan). Instead of just the usual performance of "Metal" and "Cars" we also get  solo piano and full band versions of "Down In The Park".

I know I'm not the only NIN fan out there in Gary's fanbase so I've posted this as the full gig and not just Gary's guest slot and will be posting more from this tour in the future. The encore also has some rarely played Joy Division covers....what are you still waiting for? Grab this show now!

Another decent audience recording from the tour that keeps giving! The third date on The Pleasure Principle Anniversary Tour and it's fantastic! Gary says he is done with nostalgia for a while (so that means we will have to wait for the Beserker Tour!) so while we await the new tour(s) this gives us all a chance to remember the past.....and look forward to the future!

This is a great interview on the Mark Jones "Back To The Phuture" BBC 6 Music show from 17th October 2009 just before Gary took the Pleasure Principle Anniversary Tour on the road. This is just over 45 minutes of Gary talking about his influences and career and punctuated by the songs he is discussing (Bowie, T.Rex, Ultravox!,NIN etc...) not quite Desert Island Discs but a great show!
